President's letter:

Happy New Year to all HAFS members and their extended family.  I believe that flying model aircraft is a worthwhile passion to be enjoyed and shared with others. Nothing is more fantastic then to get others who share our hobby to come together.  We share experiences and exchange ideas in the ever changing world of miniature aviation.  With 2008 underway, I encourage all our members to attend the January meeting and learn what upcoming events looming at the Elmerton Avenue flying field.

If you have a model in progress, please feel free to bring your show and tell to our meeting.  We're always looking for new ideas, from start on a drawing board to actual flight in the blue yonder.

The gratification is seeing a project completed and then admired by all.  Dreams do come true if we keep working at it one day at a time, as we can.

Wishing everyone success with all winter projects.  It's cool now, but another great flying season is just around the corner.

One past note:

Hidden Hangar Indoor Fun Fly event on Dec. 22, 2007 from 10 P.M. to 2 A.M.:

The indoor flying in Palmyra @ Riegle airport domed soccer field, Dec.23, at 1:00 a.m. It went great, since we were impervious to rain, fog, and darkness. Still air ruled, except in front of a large intake fan.  One minor collision of an ARF slow-flyer with a Ikarus "Demoiselle" scale.  About 40 metro modelers from 3 different area clubs showed up to take advantage of this unique opportunity. 75% park fliers with some electric helicopters. One fan powered Lear Jet was lost in ceiling support beams and took some time to be retrieved by sheer skill and muscle.

Featured were some Old Timers which I had not seen in years, but active in flying never-the-less.

Reminder for members who are not paid up for 2008 to get the dues to the H.A.F.S. treasurer. (A.S.A.P.)

Keep'm flying, hope this can get us a start on a newsletter,

Pete Millvan,
