Join HAFS

Membership Information

  1. The membership is open to all persons. AMA membership is required for flying privileges. Annual membership is from January 1 through December 31.
  2. Young members (up to age 18) may be accepted if accompanied by a dues paying parent or guardian who shall be responsible for their conduct.
  3.  The Treasurer shall accept new membership applications with the first years' dues and initiation fee. HAFS applications are to be presented to the board for approval.
  4. The applicant will be notified by the Treasurer of their approval into the HAFS, pending applicants introduction at the next General membership meeting.
  5. Member invited guests (whom are AMA members) may fly at the field accompanied by the inviting member. After three (3) visits the guest is required to join the HAFS before any further flying privileges can continue.

Dues, Fees and Voting Rights                        

  1. New Members dues and initiation fee are payable at time of application. Dues paid after August 31 shall be the normal dues rate and will include the balance of the current year and all of the following year.
  2. Renewal members annual dues are payable to the Treasurer between September 1 and December 31. Renewals paid after December shall be charged a $5.00 late penalty. Members in arrears after January 31 will be dropped from the HAFS. New application and initiation fee will be required for reentry into the HAFS.
  3.  The initiation fee shall be waived for succeeding, immediate household members. Additional members of the same immediate household are required to pay half of the current membership fee. Youth members are not required to pay HAFS dues for flying privileges until they reach 18 years of age.

  4. INITIATION FEE: All new members must pay a one-time fee of $15.00.

    YEARLY MEMBERSHIP FEE: $35.00.

    ADDITIONAL MEMBERS (same household only): $17.50.

    Additional members of same household do not pay the $15.00 initiation fee.

    No dues required for youth (not age 19 by July 1st.)

    Applicants must present payment at the HAFS Monthly Meeting in order for membership to be processed - payment by mail is not accepted!

    NOTE: Dues paid after Sept 1ST will be credited to the next calendar year. All renewals must be paid by Dec 31st or a late fee of $5.00 will be assessed. If renewal dues are unpaid by Jan 31st, a new membership application (including initiation fee) will be required.
